Lanopods are a simple solution for easy peasy lanolising of wool nappy covers. They're an 'all in one' pod that can be used to make the perfect solution for lanolising new or existing wool nappy covers.

Most wool nappy covers need to be lanolised before their first use, after washing & between uses as the lanolin wears off. A lanolised wool cover is water resistant & can be worn over cloth nappies in place of a PUL cover to provide a breathable, soft & natural cover. Lanolin is a natural waxy substance produced by sheep to coat its fleece. It helps keep sheep dry & regulates temperature, just like a wool cover will do on your baby. Lanolin is removed from the fleece when processed into wool. By lanolising a wool nappy cover you are simply adding the lanolin & all its properties back into the wool.

Follow our 'no faff' method for the easiest way to lanolise:

1. In a jug, pour 100 ml of freshly boiled water over 1 Lanopod.
2. Let it sit for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the solution becomes milky and fully dissolved.
3. Pour the solution into 200 ml of cold water.
4. Submerge the wool cover in the mixture and gently work the solution into the fibres for a few minutes.
5. To dry, place the wool on a large towel, roll it up, and gently squeeze out excess water.
6. Lay the wool flat to dry.

You can use any remaining solution to lanolise another cover immediately or dispose.

(Note: For new wool, you may need to repeat the process within the first week. After lanolising 2-3 times, your wool will maintain its properties longer.)
