Our Lanolin gives your wool nappy covers a natural, water-resistant layer — just as nature intended. Lanolin is a natural by-product of freshly shorn sheep’s wool and is responsible for keeping sheep dry, comfortable, and protected. When wool is processed, this precious lanolin is removed, leaving new wool covers in need of replenishment.
By lanolising your wool covers with Poppets Lanolin, you restore their natural water-repelling and moisture-evaporating properties, helping them perform beautifully. Use alongside our Poppets Cloth Wipe Solution and wool care range for easy, gentle, fuss-free maintenance.
Your lanolin comes in a 50g or 100g aluminium tin, perfect for storing and protecting your pure lanolin.

- Fill a bucket or sink with lukewarm water (no hotter than 30°C), enough to fully submerge your wool cover.
- Add ¼ tsp lanolin per cover to a standard mug, then add 1 Poppet (or a squirt of baby wash).
- Fill the mug with freshly boiled water, stirring until the lanolin fully dissolves and the solution turns milky.
- Pour the mug into the lukewarm water, ensuring the temperature stays below 30°C.
- Submerge your wool cover and soak for 2–4 hours.
- New wool: Repeat the soak 2 more times without drying between soaks.
- Existing wool: One soak is enough.
6. To dry, gently squeeze out excess water. Lay flat on a towel, roll it up to remove moisture, then lay flat (or hang) to finish drying.
